The THADOBATI is the most accessible style of traditional/antique bowl, with straight or 'upright' walls leaning very slightly out from a flat base. This creates an easy shape to hold, the option to create a delicious wah-wah with your hand on the base of the bowl, and makes it very easy to get a clear, crisp fundamental tone from both a strike or stir.
This bowl shape is more precise than the Jambati and tends to produce a clearer slightly more bell-like sound with less focus on the overtones and their interplay.
This piece is marked by the artisan makers, a true stamp of quality heritage and the rich Newari* tradition from which it is sourced.
