FOR SOUND PRACTITIONERS

FIELDWORK is a symposium (which means gathering of experts) - an online community for sound facilitators.

FIELDWORK is a space to advance your practice, further develop technique, and access practical advice and support from professionals (led by Silence & Noise) and your sound peers. It's not a replacement for advanced training, but it offers many of the same experiences and content, stretched over a longer form community space, so is a wonderful option for CPD (continuous professional development) for sound facilitators who want to keep expanding their skills and knowledge in a more relaxed space.

It's ultimate purpose is to create a cohesive space for sound facilitators and practitioners at all levels to connect and learn with and from each other.

The community is designed to create collaboration, building a beautiful global network of soundworkers that begins with the Silence & Noise graduates, but welcomes in all certified practitioners regardless of their training.

Every Month in
A monthly online gathering of sound graduates and practitioners at all levels.
This space is all about advancing learning, ideas and your personal growth as a sound facilitator, through workshopping, questions, and 360° peer connection.
Each month Janie will share a seminar/workshop on a particular subject related to soundwork - with subjects drawn form conversation and polls inside our private group, ensuring content crafted and requested by the membership.

The workshop is followed by curated Q&A related the theme, and then an open table for any and all questions related to soundwork. Got questions about what brand of bowl to buy? Trouble you're having with some tech? Advice on negotiating a venue? Struggles with a student or client? Recommendations for the next great mallet? The floor is yours.

** the only criteria for membership is that you have completed a sound training somewhere in the world and are accredited to practice as a sound healer/therapist/practitioner. Drop Janie a message if in doubt of your eligibility.

A space for the burning questions
I was once a newly qualified, uncertain practitioner, undercharging, anxious and lacking in self-confidence. I've spent 10+ years growing, learning from mistakes, and crafting my own path to where I am now. I'm here to share what I've learned with YOU.
These are all questions I've had to ask at some point - and now they are among the most popular I hear in my mentorship space. Here's a taster of what you can bring to the Q&A table in FIELDWORK, or put on your list of must-cover intel in your 1:1.
Just HOW do you play multiple instruments at once?
How do you build ‘performance’ skills and get more confident in front of groups?
Why didn’t my course teach me anything about the neuroscience of sound - can YOU teach it to me?
Were you already musical? How can I make my sessions sound more dynamic and joined up and intentional?
How did you create your own style of playing and how can I do it too? What’s your secret sauce?
What do you do when someone has a life-changing PTSD experience in the sound space? How do you know what to do and say to support them?
How do you manage to speak so easily in front of people without tripping over the details and getting freaked out?
How do your sessions always hang together so well - how do you come up with themes and all your playlists and background mixes?
Does it ever all go wrong for you? [ PS - YES ] What do you do when you knock a gong over or totally lose your way?

How do I work out what to charge the retreat that just inquired about me?

When do I upgrade or add new instruments and do I need to retrain if I start something new?

How do I practically adapt my kit for travel, and still honour the heart of what I offer?
